How To Format A Resume

We all know that many resumes end up in the trash. But quite a few get tossed not because of content, but because they look so bad. Before you send out your next resume I want you to pretend it’s the one going for an interview. Then dress it up pretty. No cramped sentences. No fancy or hard-to-read fonts. And, of course, no mistakes.

Take a look at this chart for a few pointers on formatting.

Another post shows a video on how to right align dates while keeping the other text aligned to the left. It’s a simple process, but many people seem to struggle with it. And let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see posts on. You can also take a look at an earlier post I did on formatting here.

About the Author

About the Author: When I’m not headhunting, or writing, I help my wife take care of our animal sanctuary. At last count we had 45 animals—11 dogs, 1 horse, 6 cats, and 26 pigs. Oh, and one crazy—and very large—wild boar named Dennis who takes walks with me every day and happens to also be my best buddy. For information on my mystery/suspense books, go to giacomog.com .
